Costa Adeje is the nicest area for most visitors. It is warmer than the north, more settled than the party strips, and easier to use as a base.
You can have beach days, meals out, and simple transport without much stress. Some people will prefer Puerto de la Cruz for a more local feel, but it is cooler and less beach focused.
