It depends on the year, because it follows the liturgical calendar. In 2026, the main Santa Cruz Carnival runs from mid January with the opening gala, then the street carnival kicks off around 13 February and ends with fireworks on 22 February.
In 2027, it starts later, around 22 January and runs into early March, with the main street days in late February.
