For a lot of visitors, Costa Adeje takes that spot. It feels more polished than some of the older resort areas, and it is easier to have a relaxed stay there. You get beaches, seafront walks, and plenty of places to eat without the rough edges that some other parts have.
Some people prefer Los Cristianos for a more lived in feel, or Puerto de la Cruz for something less resort like. Still, if you want the safest all round answer, Costa Adeje is the one most people settle on.
