Costa Adeje is better if you want comfort, good hotels, and a more relaxed atmosphere. Playa de las Américas is better if your holiday is really about late nights, louder bars, and being right in the middle of things.
The two are close enough that you can wander between them, which is handy, but they do feel different once you’re there. Costa Adeje has the softer edge, better for couples and families.
