From the usual hiking route, you’re looking at a long half day or more, depending on your pace and where you start. If you begin from a lower trailhead and go all the way up, it can easily turn into a full day.
The cable car makes the final push much shorter, which is why so many people use it. I’d build in extra time, because altitude and weather can slow everyone down.
