Summer crowds are more “lots of people enjoying themselves” than chaos, but you’ll feel it. Try walking along the main seafront in late July at 8pm and you’ll end up doing that slightly slow weave around pushchairs, families debating dinner, and kids begging for another go in the arcade.
Beach space shrinks, especially near hotel zones where rows of loungers sit right up against the sand. On the flip side, mornings are lovely, the sea still feels fresh, and if you’re up even a bit earlier than everyone else you get a different version of the place.
