By day, it’s very relaxed. Shorts, t shirts, summer dresses, swimwear under everything because you might end up by the sea without planning it. Fabrics that breathe are your friend, especially in the south where heat can sit on you a bit around mid afternoon.
In the evening, think easy going smart casual, not full dress code. A shirt or nice top, sundress, sandals, you’ll fit right in almost anywhere. If you’re heading up to Teide or inland at any height, dress like you’re going for a spring walk in the UK; trousers, a light jumper, closed shoes.
