If you’re just trying to escape the weather and stare at the sea for a bit, four or five days are fine. You’ll get a couple of beach or pool days, one day up at Teide, and maybe a wander around a town without feeling rushed.
If you’re the sort who wants to actually see the island, I’d say a week is the sweet spot. You’ll have slack for a slow morning after a late dinner.

Longer trips, eight to ten days, make sense if you fancy splitting your time between north and south, or you’re keen on hiking and road trips. Any shorter than three nights and it feels like you spend half the time just arriving and leaving.
