What you want is calm water, easy entry, and a beach that doesn’t fight you the moment you step in. Teresitas is a favourite because the sea is usually more forgiving there.

Some northern beaches are beautiful but rougher, so they’re not the best for a casual swim. If swimming is the main goal, stick to the sheltered south coast.
